The New York City cultural community gathered for sledgehammers and slab cake at the Gibney Dance “Bash Bash,” to mark start of renovations at 280 Broadway. Here, Gibney Dance founder and visionary Gina Gibney hit her bullseye with a mighty swing of a golden sledgehammer. Her initial blows to a wall destined to topple were supported by a subsequent stream of “Bashers” — dancers, dignitaries, friends and family! ┬áThe party marked the start of renovations at the facility, supported by a $10M fundraising campaign managed by Dunch Arts, and paved the way for a dynamic new home for dance and culture, opening in Fall 2014.
